Antique Brooches

Brooches have been around for many years and have always been a popular jewelry item. You may have seen your mother or grandmothers wearing a brooch. When brooches were first made years ago, there was one particular brooch, the cameo brooch that was worn by many, if not most, women. This cameo brooch was the design of a portrait of a woman carved into a stone. There are still some heirloom cameo brooches around for sale, but if you manage to find one, it will be quite costly. This is exactly what these brooches look like with no two the same. Each combination of colors is made to look like a flower or other design. If you like bright colors and big gemstones, there area some beautiful antique costume brooches available on the market today. Many have huge rhinestones with gold plated backgrounds.
